All-English program “Contemporary Chinese Story: Glory and Dream” is jointlyundertaken by International Student Administration Branch of Chongqing Association of Higher Education and Southwest University. There are ten online lectures in this program. As a deputy director general in International Student Administration Branch of Chongqing Association, CQMU held the first lecture.
On the morning of Oct 27, the first lecture of the programtitled "China International Medical Aid for Decades to Build A Community of Human Health", was given byDr. ChenGuozhu from the 2nd affiliated hospital of CQMU. Wang Yu, Director of the Foreign Affairs Department and Dean of the College of International Education, Yu Shengjie, Medical Director of the 2nd affiliated hospital, Liu Xiaoqin, Vice Dean of the College of International Education, and international students in Chongqing attended the lecture.
Dr. Chen Guozhu first reviewed the history ofChina’s foreign medical assistance since the founding of the People's Republic of China, and briefly described the fruitful achievements of the Chinese medical teams sent by the Chongqing Municipal Committee to help Papua New Guinea and Barbados over the years. During his journey to Papua New Guinea, as the leader of the Chinese medical team, he led the team not only to successfully complete the tasks of cardiology department in the recipient hospital and of diplomatic supports, but also to carry outvolunteer services including front-line anti-epidemicsupports, the “Spring Sprouts” campaign and free clinics. They have established a very deep friendship with the local people. The work of Chinese medical teams in Papua New Guinea for 20 years has deepened the mutual understanding of traditional cultures and has enhanced the friendship between the two peoples.
“Contemporary Chinese Story: Glory and Dream” aims to explain the core concepts of governance in China's new era and show the advanced culture of contemporary China by stories, and to cultivate more talents who are familiar with and friendly to China and can benefit the world.
